No shame. Period

A short documentary about menstruation, courage and how life changes overnight.

Meet five girls living different lives, but with one thing in common – menstruation. Ana from the crises in Venezuela. Annett, a refugee from South Sudan. Pheang from rural Cambodia. Shahed in Lebanon who fled the bombs in Aleppo and Alva from Sweden.

HOW TO MAKE A CHANGE:

Break the taboo! Never stop talking about menstruation.
Invest more in sex education that addresses issues concerning menstruation and promotes gender equality.
Ensure that all girls have access to information, sanitary products and safe toilets – it is crucial if we want to achieve gender equality and global development!

THIS IS WHAT PLAN INTERNATIONALS DOES:

We work against taboo and ignorance.
We ensure that all children have knowledge of how the body works and access to quality sex education.
We ensure that there is access to school toilets that can be locked properly and that girls have safe opportunities to use the toilet even in case of disasters or if they have fled their homes.
We increase girls’ access to sanitary products.
